If the working area is adjacent to a swimming pool, watercourse, slope greater than 10%, precipice higher than 20in (50cm) or a public road, the Perimeter Wire must be supplemented with a fence or the like. The height must then be at least 6in (15cm). This will prevent the mower from ending up outside the working area under any circumstances.
If there is no fence or the like, then lay the Perimeter Wire at a minimum distance of 4ft (1.2m) from the water.
